Public Education

As a proud graduate of Port Arthur ISD,  I understand the significance of public education. I am committed to ensuring that every teacher, child, and parent has access to the finest resources, setting them up for success. I am a loyal advocate for ALL children, especially those students with learning disabilities. As someone with dyslexia, I know firsthand how crucial access to specialized learning can be for kids with learning disabilities. The State must fund special education programs, teachers, and support staff because ALL children deserve a great public education.

Healthcare

MILLIONS of Texans- adults and children alike- either have no insurance or are underinsured. As the fastest-growing state, it is unacceptable to have Texans go without healthcare coverage. I have worked on these issues for years and have knowledge and understanding of how we can expand healthcare in Texas. We need leaders who are creative and hardworking so we can ensure millions of Texans, including people right here in our community, get healthcare coverage. I promise to be your voice fighting for healthcare at the Capitol.

Flood Mitigation

As a 3rd Generation resident of Port Arthur, I know how important flood mitigation is to protecting our homes, community, and our resources. I will make sure our flood infrastructure is fully funded, and our local governments are receiving their share from the State so they can keep our communities protected from future storms.

I will work to bring innovative solutions to HD-22, such as a coastal spine that will protect our neighborhoods and natural areas from powerful storm surges. I will fight for investment in coastal resilience. We need bold leaders who are working now to protect us from future storms; I promise to continue to make flood mitigation and coastal resiliency a priority.

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Policy

I am aware of this silent epidemic occurring in the everyday lives of Texans and those in Southeast Texas. I hear you, I see you, I am you. Protection, prevention, legal support, awareness, and empowerment are continually needed to help survivors and their families. The social taboos associated with this topic often lead to isolation and underreporting. To my SETX families of HD-22 who have confided in me and asked for my support in policy...I will continue to fight. For the protection of our children, our families, our parents, our neighbors, and all, I will never stop moving forward as your voice and advocate in the Texas House of Representatives.
